Benefits support and welfare advice for families

If you and your family need help with benefits, welfare and other money worries, we can support you.

What support you can get

The Benefits Support and Welfare Advice team can give you guidance and support with:

  • benefits applications and appeals
  • understanding which benefits to claim
  • benefits related to work, childcare costs, rent, bills, and hardship support to improve financial stability
  • health and disability claims, including for children with additional needs
  • accessing other Family Hubs teams

What we cannot help with

We do not provide advice on:

  • debt
  • housing
  • immigration
  • employment
  • family law matters
  • consumer law matters
  • energy and fuel bill advice

But we can sign-post and refer you to services who can help on these issues, such as Mary Ward Legal Centre, Citizen’s Advice, Good Work Camden, and other council services.

Who can get support

Our team help parents and carers with children up to age 19 (or age 25 if they have SEND). We also help expectant parents.
