About our Local Offer
Every council must publish a Local Offer.
The Local Offer tells you what special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) support is available.
Our Local Offer tells you:
- how we support children and young people aged 0 to 25 with SEND
- what is ordinarily available in Camden schools and settings (early intervention)
- how to access more support in early years settings, schools and colleges
- how Camden supports children with more complex needs
- what education, health and care services are available in Camden for children and young people with SEND
Watch the overview video on YouTube.

How our Local Offer was developed
Our Local Offer has been produced in partnership with colleagues from health, social care, education, and the voluntary sector. Most importantly, it has been produced in partnership with parents, carers and young people.
We have co-produced our Local Offer with active participation from parents from the start. The first version went live in September 2014, and we were aware we wanted and needed to make further changes to improve its accessibility.
We consulted widely on our first published Local Offer with a number of events that parents, carers and young people attended and we had attendance from parents and carers with children with a range of needs and disabilities. This process also included an event with young people at the Reactive Forum in December 2014.
A refreshed Local Offer went live in May 2015 which included a new preparing for adult life section that young people from the 7 O’clock club were involved in designing. They made suggestions for content through a number of workshops.
Our SEND Local Offer now sits alongside the Family Hub information so that parents and carers can find the information they need in one place. Parent feedback showed they still could not find the information they needed quickly enough. In 2023/24 we shifted the content to a new platform with support from parents and other stakeholders.
At the same time, we updated the content. We hope that our new Local Offer website is easier to navigate and find relevant information quickly.
